Since launching in 2008, Cheshire’s Ofsted approved childcare centre Kids Planet has opened almost 50 branches across the Northwest of England where the staff dedicate themselves to providing an enriching and secure environment for pre-school children to develop – earning themselves an almost perfect 5-star rating from parents. To celebrate their growing success, each year the company hosts an awards ceremony where the most hard-working staff receive accolades for their efforts; and this year the Hog Roast Winsford team was invited to serve our classic hog roast menu at the event for the approximately 200 guests.
When the day of the much-anticipated ceremony finally rolled around, catering manager Paul led the Hog Roast Winsford team to the Bowdon Rugby Club in the early afternoon where they were welcomed straight through to the classy function room. Wasting no time, the team immediately began by setting up our lightweight and portable cooking equipment which allowed them to effortlessly prepare the whole pig which after being evenly scored was left to slowly roast on a bed of savoury stuffing, giving the crew plenty of time to focus on the locally sourced free-range chickens, BBQ beef burgers and of course, the meat-free alternatives of handmade grilled vegetable and grilled vegetable and haloumi skewers which were paired with the inclusive gluten-free rolls and wraps. With only a few hours left to spare, the Hog Roast Winsford team rolled out the red carpet for the Kids Planet staff and set the tables which each featured centrepieces of bottles of bubbly which were provided by the company for the evening’s celebrations.
The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as arriving guests entered the beautifully decorated events hall where they were invited to help themselves to the tantalising feast before the awards were announced. The hog roast was a huge hit and taking advantage of the inclusive menu and ability to try out their own flavour combinations with our popular snack in a roll option, guests helped themselves to a little bit of everything and many returned to the buffet table for second and third helpings of the delicious food.
