After first opening its doors to the public in the December of 1951, Nantwich Civic Hall quickly became a popular venue for special events; and over the years its main function room has seen many brides and grooms take to the floor for their first dance together as a married couple. With decades of history under one roof, it’s no surprise that newlyweds-to-be are still drawn to this local hall as a reception spot for their weddings, and recently the Hog Roast Nantwich team were called in by one loved-up pair to serve our classic hog roast menu at their traditional-style nuptials.
While the ceremony was well underway, the Hog Roast Nantwich team, led by our expert catering manager Paul, arrived at the reception venue where they worked against the clock to prepare a mouth-watering buffet of slow roasted whole pig with apple sauce, savoury stuffing and perfectly crispy crackling, rosemary seasoned spring lamb, locally sourced free-range chicken, BBQ 100% beef handmade burgers, chefs own gourmet sausages, chicken kebabs and meaty marinated spare ribs. The team also rustled up a meat-free alternative option of homemade grilled vegetable and haloumi skewers which were served with pitta breads and a delicious tzatziki dip.
When the lovebirds arrived at the fluorescently lit hall to discover that the catering crew had dressed the cluster of tables in crisp white table cloths which were decorated with centrepieces and celebratory balloons, as well as having laid out a flavourful menu with more than enough food for their 120 guests, they were blown away. Just in time for the 5:30 pm serving time, guests began arriving at the hall where they each grabbed one of our eco-friendly wooden plates and began choosing from the selection of succulent meats, golden chips and gluten-free rolls and wraps which allowed them to experiment with their own flavour combinations.
The laid-back menu went down a treat with everyone in attendance and with the Hog Roast Nantwich team on hand to manage all of the newlyweds catering needs, they were able to relax and enjoy their first moments as a married couple together.
