One of our bookings from last weekend took the Hog Roast Deeside team out of our usual perimeter, after pub owner, Darren had asked us to help him out with the open-air karaoke night that he had planned for his punters. The last thing Darren needed to organise for the event was the food, and having read plenty of positive things about us from our testimonials page, he decided that one of our hog roasts would make an excellent addition to the event. He couldn’t have been more right!
Hoping to keep things as simple as possible, the client opted for our classic hog roast menu, which is an ideal option for busy events like this one, as there are fewer things for our team to prepare. Darren was pleased to see that we also offer plenty of meat-free alternatives here at Hog Roast Deeside. So, as well as the traditional spit roast option, he asked the team to add BBQ pulled jackfruit wraps and grilled veggie skewers with tzatziki dip and flatbreads to the menu for the vegetarian and vegan attendees.
On the day of the event, Hog Roast Deeside arrived at the pub early in the afternoon to see that Darren had already transformed his beer garden by setting up a makeshift stage in front of a cluster of socially distanced tables and chairs. With the venue being on the spacious side, there was lots of space still left for our catering team to set up the gazebo and cooking equipment, and wasting no time they got started on preparations for the feast right away.
A handful of hours later, the pig had been completely transformed, and as the mouth-watering aromas from the spread began to fill the entire pub, the guests made their appearance! Upon carving the meat, Hog Roast Deeside revealed a centre of fork-tender pulled pork which the pub-goers eagerly lined up for before finding a seat and waiting for their turn to get on stage and belt out some classic karaoke tunes.
Everyone had a wonderful evening, and Darren was so impressed by the quality of the food our team served!
