We run a tight ship round here at Hog Roast Knutsford. Even though it is a family business and you may think that comes with a little more of a laid-back style, we have a strong reputation to uphold, and that goes double when it comes to the latter end of the year when we get a lot of orders for Christmas events and festive corporate parties. As the number one hog roast caterer in Cheshire, we have a high standard that we like to keep.
So what does that mean from our head chef and business owner Ste? A rigorous Winter Refresher Training exercise for the whole team! Okay, it’s perhaps not all that rigorous – it is still Christmas, after all, and we like to have a bit of fun around here at Hog Roast Knutsford– but it is necessary to have training days like this each year just to ensure that the entire team is ready for the busiest period of the year. The latter end of each year is the one time in the calendar where we offer up an entirely different kind of menu than our usual services. It’s all related to our signature culinary methods and dishes of course, only the roast turkey begins to take precedence over our namesake roast, and pigs in blankets become one of the most sought-after thing on the menu along with our mince pies.
Still, however, it is important to go over these dishes and our festive menu again each year just to make sure it still feels fresh and at its best. That goes for our team too – even the most experienced of them. Yes that includes Ste himself, and the kids Molly and Lillie who also are not beyond a little bit of extra training from time to time. Even our new star-in-the-making chef, granddaughter Ayda, sits along for the Refresher Training (although her contribution tends to just be hoovering up as many of the Christmas dishes that we cook during training day as she can manage…).
