Ever since the pandemic, we’ve seen a massive rise in elopement weddings, with more couples choosing intimate, low-cost affairs over traditional nuptials. And here in Cheshire, Hannah and Martin were the latest lovestruck pair to hop on this ever-growing trend, tying the knot in a private ceremony at a secluded forest venue. But little did they know, their families had a spectacular surprise up their sleeves!
Martin’s parents, Linda and Jerry, decided to host a secret reception at their home. Everyone pitched in for decorations, gifts, and catering to make sure the newlyweds had a fantastic time.
Given our reputation for delivering out-of-this-world meal plans at an affordable price, Hog Roast Kelsall was the obvious choice for this celebration, and we were thrilled to accept the booking! After much deliberation, the family chose our Southern Slow Roast menu, an iconic feast boasting a flavourful trio of pre-marinated meats, slow-roasted to perfection, a scrumptious vegan alternative, and all-American sides.
The party went ahead on Saturday, a week after the couple’s intimate wedding and Hannah and Martin were utterly gobsmacked when they arrived at Linda and Jerry’s home to see ‘Just Married’ banners, balloons, and all of their family and friends waiting for them! Eighty people, including twenty kids, gathered to celebrate their love, leaving Hannah and Martin speechless. Overwhelmed by their family’s efforts, they couldn’t thank everyone enough for organising the surprise party.
After a few heartfelt speeches, the celebrations kicked into high gear, and everyone dove into the glorious feast Hog Roast Kelsall had prepared. The BBQ pork butt was so tender and juicy it melted in the mouth, the Texan 24-hour beef brisket was a carnivore’s dream, and the perfectly seasoned Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens were simply irresistible. For the vegans, BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls were a hit, while mac and cheese, buttery corn cobbettes, and Memphis-style coleslaw added flavour and depth to the meal.
The festivities didn’t stop there. Guitars were brought out, and a lively sing-song around the bonfire ensued, creating unforgettable memories. We’ve received glowing feedback from the clients, thanking Hog Roast Kelsall for our fantastic food service, which helped everyone relax and get into the party spirit.
