Hog Roast Winwick Events All Month

The month of October had me busy hog roasting in Winwick on every weekend. The weekend that’s just passed us started like many others, a Friday night hog roast for a party. But this party was a little bit bigger than party bookings usually are, 205 people in full were set to attend the party. Predictably as with parties there were a few last minute withdrawals and so on the night our head count was 182, which is still a heck of a lot of people requiring a heck of a lot of food – Good job I was there with Spitting Pig to oblige the hungry party guests.

A spit roast Winwick pig was made and the guests ravished it down to the scraps. The guests at first seem to be overawed by the size of the pig roast Winwick rolls we served, but they loved it and were committed to eating it all. The pig was an organic one that we got from a farm a few miles up the road, the guests certainly appreciated the free range quality and taste. We left the event with a smile on our face, one more successful hog roast down but plenty more to look forward to that weekend.

As you might expect Saturday was just as jam-packed with people and hog roasts as the Friday. The hog roast Winwick job on Sat was for an all together different event, a church event. One of the local churches has been struggling to keep up its previously high number of church-goers, to re inject some life into the church and attract some youth they put on a really magnificent day of entertainment, there was everything from local magicians keeping the kids entertained and at times confused, to outdoor sports games for prizes and such, a few fundraising activities too. We made the hog roast so that people who came didn’t leave early on account of hunger, it was our job to make sure that everybody was well feed, the church does some truly good work and we fed people from all backgrounds, from wealthy folk helping the church to homeless people that the church helps. Everybody there had a good time, it was a fantastic example of community, the fact that I got paid for being there and making a hog roast Winwick food was really just icing on the cake.

Sunday was my last event of the week for a wedding reception. A little on the small side to what we’re used to but thoroughly enjoyable non the less, 40 guests were there so only a small pig was required, but don’t let the size of the pig confuse you, it tasted every bit as good as our big pigs.
