The 18th of March was a bittersweet day for the workers at SpanSet Limited, as, after being an integral part of the established height safety, lifting, load control and safety management business for many, many years, it was finally time for the materials handling manager, Martin to move onto the next chapter of his life: Retirement.
As a valued employee and colleague, it was, understandably, very tough for the SpanSet UK team to say goodbye to the beloved retiree, but wanting to give him a proper send-off, they had resolved to plan a memorable party on his last day at work.
Joanne was the one responsible for putting the party together, and to ensure the success of the occasion, she had enlisted the help of our Hog Roast Middlewich caterers, whom she had hired to serve a Gourmet BBQ Menu.
With plenty of tasty meat options, delicious sides and a veggie/vegan dish to choose from, this menu had everything the client was looking for and more. And our promise to clean up discreetly afterwards was the cherry on the cake!
Not long after placing the booking, the day of Martin’s retirement event arrived, and to ensure our caterers had enough time to create a sublime meal that was bursting at the seams with authentic flavour, our catering manager, Alan, led Hog Roast Middlewich to the site on Telford Way in the early hours of the morning. Once there, they spent the hours leading up to the midday serving time grilling the handmade 100% British beef burger patties, gourmet sausages, Thai chicken kebabs, meaty marinated spareribs and veggie skewers on the HogMaster until they were beautifully charred and mouth-watering. Shortly before the 60 guests and man of the hour Martin arrived, our team added the finishing touches to the serving table, which consisted of mixed fries, gluten-free rolls and bowls of Greek salad and coleslaw.
Martin was rendered speechless when he realised the lengths that SpanSet had gone to, in order to give him the best start to his retirement, and he was first in line to receive a delicious plateful of BBQ goodness from Hog Roast Middlewich. The other workers followed quickly after, and once the food was all but done, everyone gathered around for a game of ‘spin the wheel’, which revealed highlights of Martin’s time at SpanSet Ltd.
