In May, Hog Roast Pickmere catered for a wonderful wedding that took place at Park Farm Showfield, Dumfries. Lindsay and William were the wonderful bride and groom and their wedding was a beautiful celebration of their relationship. The sun was shining and the weather was lovely, which made this special day even more enjoyable! For the menu, the Hog Roast Pickmere team had been hired to provide a personalised alfresco menu, with plenty of different dishes to choose from and plenty for the 123 guests to enjoy. This menu was sure to be a great addition to the occasion and the Hog Roast Pickmere was more than happy to get involved!
Hog Roast Pickmere’s alfresco menu usually begins with antipasti platters, but this couple chose to swap the platters for a canapes course. We provided a selection of three delicious canapes served buffet style to the guests, which was ideal for letting everyone enjoy a tasty introduction to our catering. The canapes included a pan-seared fillet of beef served in a mini-Yorkshire pudding, roasted halloumi and tomato crostini, and roasted duck wraps with spring rolls.
For the main meal, we provided a classic hog roast, accompanied by roasted new potatoes, a selection of seasonal leaves, homemade gourmet coleslaw, and heritage tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad. The sliced pork was cooked to perfection and was the star of our menu. Overall, our dishes created a delicious and filling main meal, with plenty for everyone to enjoy.
To finish the menu, Hog Roast Pickmere served a selection of desserts, including profiteroles and cheesecake. The dishes were accompanied by English cream and fresh berries to create an elegant and delicious final course.
