Back in early May, Katie and Donny welcomed baby Angela into their family! Like all new parents, they were absolutely over the moon and couldn’t wait to show off their adorable bundle of joy.
Wanting to celebrate Angela’s arrival in a special way, they opted for a secular naming day ceremony instead of a traditional baptism or christening. This relaxed and fun alternative is becoming increasingly popular across the UK, and it’s not hard to see why! These celebrations mark the beginning of a child’s journey and identity while welcoming them into the family fold with love and joy.
Katie and Donny were buzzing with excitement and wanted everything to be perfect for the big day. They decided to host the event at their home, inviting 80 adult guests and 15 children. They also hired a celebrant to carry out the ceremony and given the unpredictable nature of Cheshire weather, a marquee was rented to keep everyone dry! The marquee was a visual delight, dressed with a pastel balloon arch featuring rainbows and flower-shaped balloons. They added matching bunting, baby pink and lilac tablecloths, and wildflower bouquets to create a charming, festive atmosphere.
Knowing that fresh, delicious food would elevate the event, the couple brought in Hog Roast Buckley to handle the catering! Our catering manager, Stephen, worked diligently all morning to prepare a feast that would wow the guests. Katie and Donny had fallen in love with our BBQ Menu after seeing pictures on our social media, and they were confident their guests would too. And they were right – the food was a smash hit! Our gourmet sausages were juicy and perfectly seasoned. The Thai-style chicken kebabs were bursting with flavour, and the sticky BBQ spareribs had everyone licking their fingers clean. But it was our homemade British 100% beef burgers that really wowed. Topped with melting cheese and ripe tomato slices, they were simply irresistible!
We also catered to vegetarians and vegans with our tasty veggie burgers and grilled vegetable kebabs, complete with optional halloumi, tzatziki dip, sweet chilli sauce, and flatbreads. To round out the meal, Hog Roast Buckley prepared an array of sides, including seasonal green leaf salad, Greek salad, and a mix of sweet potato and regular fries.
Hog Roast Buckley’s delicious food brought everyone together, making the day even more special. Guests indulged their appetites while celebrating the sweet arrival of baby Angela.
